Cashews are good

Today we will be making Cashew Milk.

The ingredients are:

  • 1 cup (8 ounces) cashew nuts (raw)
  • 4 cups water
  • honey to taste (optional)*
(Albright 22)
The instructions to make this beverage is fairly simple. The steps are essentially to:
  1. Put cashews, water, and if desired, honey, into an electrical blender and set to high for 2 minutes.
  2. Refrigerate in a closed container.
(Albright 22)
The yield is 4 cups of cashew milk
*Note: Cashew milk is naturally sweet, so tasting it before adding honey is recommended.

While cooking isn't hard at all, making simple dishes or drinks such as this show that there is still some skill needed in making anything correctly. Some things are challenging to make while others require little effort, but the same spirit needs to be present in order to make something to the best of its possibility. So here is a question for everyone, how much effort do you put into your daily lives? Even while doing things that require little to no thought, or even things that you put every ounce of your soul into. How much do you want to do something? What drives you? How do you overcome it? Cooking has the same questions as it makes you really consider what you can and can't do and pushes you to overcome that if you want to make a dish.
