"Apply an anchor strip halfway around the lower leg about six inches above the "bumps" in the ankle. Leave a one to two inch gap between the ends of the tape to allow for swelling" (Weiss, 46)
Then take a cloth and stretch out the ankle and calf to check if the support is secure
To finish the support apply the first strip over the heel to the other strip on the foot. Then weave a strip vertically from the heel to the strip on the calf to make a basket weave at the ankle for support. Repeat this again once more to complete the support.
It is important to treat injuries as they happen or else you risk further injuring yourself even more. This simple procedure reduces the strain on your foot as you walk to help relieve the pain and let the injury properly heal as you move. Where would you see it necessary to apply this technique in your active, everyday life?
