Healthy Skin

Have you had trouble with skin lately? It might just be because you aren’t obtaining proper vitamins to keep your skin healthy. When it comes down to the basics, healthy skin comes with treating your body right and obtaining the nutrients that we need on a day to day basis.

My book is called Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual by Bobbi Brown and it is about makeup tips and tricks to become a pro. Before you even think about makeup though, you want to have healthy skin. “Beautiful skin begins with a healthy lifestyle” (22, Brown) meaning that to obtain beautiful skin, you have to take care of it with nutrients and a healthy lifestyle (after all, your skin is an organ).

Biotin, Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, healthy fat, water, exercise, and sleep are key to getting healthy skin. Biotin helps hair and nails, making them stronger and are found in peanuts, whole grains, and liver. Vitamin A renews skin cells and are in dairy. Vitamin B increases fatty acid in skin, which exfoliates it, found in yeast, eggs and veggies. Vitamin C builds collagen and gives skill youthful look, in oranges, peppers, berries. Vitamin D is in egg yolks, milk, and other dairy products and helps develop skin cells. Vitamin E maintains healthy skin tissue and can be found in wheat germ, nuts, and leafy greens. Fat helps to get soft skin and shiny hair, found in avocados, and olive oil. Water is a natural hydrator to your skin, helps absorb vitamins for your skin, and promotes blood flow. Sleep regenerates the skin while exercise helps blood flow and produces sweat where it cleanses dirty pores.

Vitamin Face Mask:

Gather an egg yolk (Vitamin D), 1 tablespoon of lemon (Vitamin C), ½ a cup of plain oatmeal (Biotin), 1 crushed/steamed carrot (Vitamin B), 10 crushed cranberries (Vitamin C), and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (Good Fat).
Add them into a bowl and mix until it is all blended and then apply it to your face for 15 minutes.

Other Options:

Buy a face mask with vitamins contained in them, this contains ginger and hydration oils.

“With some knowledge, experience, good diet, and exercise, it is possible to greatly improve the appearance of the skin.”(26, Brown) This shows me that skin can change on a day to day basis, so keep up your nutrition and exercise, in no time you can get glowing skin! This all related back to makeup because you always want to have smooth and healthy skin before you apply makeup. In other words, you have to prep the canvas before you apply the art.

  1. I never tried this way before and will be looking forward to try it out, but my skin is pretty sensitive so I'm not sure if it'll be good to apply it on my face, ] is it OK to use for all skin types? but the recipe is indeed interesting

    1. Thanks for commenting Oksana! There are many different facemasks for sensitive skin and I recommend using avocado and chamomile, these will sooth the skin and are very gentle. It works perfect for your skin type! If this does not work for your skin type and you feel irritation or burning of any type of pain in your face, remove the mask quickly and rinse with warm water (Hopefully that doesn't happen though). If you want to buy some masks, Lush has MAGNIFICENT products for all skin types and there are also no harsh chemicals in them because they are all handmade! Hopefully this helped answer your question and thanks once again for commenting :)
